Professional Lawn Sprinkler System Installation in Southeastern Massachusetts

A professionally installed lawn sprinkler system is one of the most effective ways to keep your lawn healthy, green, and properly watered throughout the growing season. At Belmont Irrigation, we design and install irrigation systems for both residential and commercial properties across Southeastern Massachusetts and the Greater Boston area. Additionally, with more than 35 years of experience in the irrigation industry, our team understands how to build sprinkler systems that deliver efficient watering while protecting your landscape investment.

Massachusetts summers can be unpredictable. In fact, periods of heavy rain are often followed by weeks of hot, dry weather can quickly stress lawns and landscaping. However a well-designed irrigation system ensures that your lawn receives consistent watering even during dry stretches. Additionally, instead of dragging hoses around the yard or relying on portable sprinklers, an automatic irrigation system distributes water evenly and efficiently across your entire property.

Whether you are installing a sprinkler system for a newly constructed home,  upgrading an older irrigation system, or maybe replacing a system that is no longer performing efficiently, Belmont Irrigation provides reliable installation and service backed by decades of hands-on experience.

Why Install a Lawn Sprinkler System?

Many homeowners start out watering their lawns manually using garden hoses or portable sprinklers. While this approach may work for small areas, it often leads to uneven watering, wasted water, and a significant investment of time and effort. However, some areas of the lawn may receive too much water while others remain dry. This leads to patchy grass and unhealthy landscaping.

A professionally installed lawn sprinkler system eliminates these problems. This delivers precise and consistent watering across your entire landscape. Sprinkler heads are strategically positioned to ensure proper coverage. Additionally, automatic irrigation controllers manage when and how long each section of the lawn is watered. This means your grass and plants receive the right amount of water exactly where it is needed.

Beyond convenience, irrigation systems also help protect your property’s curb appeal. Healthy grass, trees, and landscaping can significantly improve the appearance and value of a home or commercial property. A sprinkler system helps maintain that appearance by preventing drought stress, reducing dry spots, and supporting steady plant growth throughout the season.

How Modern Lawn Sprinkler Systems Work

Modern irrigation systems are designed to provide efficient watering through a network of underground pipes, valves, and sprinkler heads. These systems are divided into several watering zones, each responsible for irrigating a specific section of the property. Zones allow different areas of the lawn to receive customized watering schedules based on sun exposure, soil conditions, and plant type.

When a zone activates, water pressure raises the sprinkler heads above the ground and distributes water evenly across the designated area. After the watering cycle is complete, the heads retract back below the surface where they remain hidden and protected until the next scheduled cycle.

At the center of the system is an irrigation controller, which acts as the system’s brain. The controller allows homeowners to set watering schedules that run automatically throughout the week. Many systems can also incorporate smart irrigation controllers that adjust watering based on local weather conditions. This helps conserve water while maintaining a healthy lawn.

Expert Sprinkler System Design and Installation

Installing a sprinkler system requires more than simply placing sprinkler heads throughout a yard. In fact, properly designed irrigation system must account for water pressure, property layout, soil conditions, and landscaping features. Belmont Irrigation begins every installation by carefully evaluating the property to determine the best layout for efficient coverage.

Our technicians install high-quality irrigation components designed to withstand the seasonal temperature changes common throughout New England. Additionally, each system is customized to ensure balanced watering across the entire lawn while minimizing wasteful overspray or runoff. The result is an irrigation system that operates reliably year after year while helping your lawn stay healthy and vibrant.

Moreover, with three decades of experience serving homeowners and businesses throughout Southeastern Massachusetts, Belmont Irrigation has built a reputation for dependable sprinkler system installation and knowledgeable service. Installing a New Irrigation System

Below are several photos & videos of a recent sprinkler system installation job done for a local homeowner. These illustrate our process in doing a typical residential sprinkler system installation.

The backflow preventer

This picture show a newly installed pressure vacuum breaker (PVB), which is a type of backflow preventer required by code in many areas for irrigation systems. It stops potentially contaminated water (from fertilizer, soil, etc.) in the sprinkler lines from flowing back into your home’s clean water supply. The black hose you see is poly tubing or PVC that connects the irrigation water line to your underground sprinkler system.

The Irrigation controller box

This is a Hunter irrigation controller, which is a popular brand for automated sprinkler systems. It controls when each zone turns on, how long it runs, and on which days. It’s programmable and can be connected to weather sensors or Wi-Fi, depending on the model. We take extra care to enclose its wiring in PVC piping both as protection for the wires, and to ensure your controller box looks neat and orderly on your home.
